I have to say that I felt relieved when I read the lastest interview of Vivienne Westwood, for the Sunday Times Magazine, excerpted by the Telegraph.
I honestly can't understand when people say that the Duchess of Cambridge is a style icon. She is beautiful and I think it's amazing that she is always wearing English designers, but AN ICON? Vivienne Westwood said:
"It seems to me, that her image is "ordinary woman." Therefore, high street shopper," she said. "And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from."
Thank God! I'm not crazy! Vivienne Westwood said exactly what I think.
She also said:
"I think she's got a problem with eye makeup!" she said about the Duchess. "The sharp line around her eyes makes her look hard. Either she should be smudgy or wear none."
Yes, people usually don't like her makeup. I think it's ok, I don't really understand about makeup.
Oh, talking about Vivienne Westwood... I saw this amazing advert in Vogue (September Issue):
Handmade in Nairobi, Kenya, the bags of her new collection are made in collaboration with The Ethical Fashion Programme.
The bags are made with recycled materials and hand made by women from marginalized communities.
It is very important to see that a big designer gave an opportunity to these people that probably never felt important and never had attention. They have now a reason to feel better and be very proud of themselves as they have done amazing work.
Great advert to be on VOGUE., isn't it?
